What to expect

Probably one of the most romantically portrayed of all the survival skills, we often forget that this skill was expected of young children in the old days.  If taught properly, bow drill not only increases the understanding of fire, it also leads to a true respect for fire safety.

We do begin our discussion with fire safety, and the basics of fire making, then we demo this amazing skill.  Some adventurers may only wish to stay for this part, but for those that are game, we have premade kits that will, at a bare minimum, get your adventurers to the point they can practice at home, and for many will lead to their very first bow drill ember.

Who is this module for

This is a great project for anyone who watches survival TV, or longingly stares at pictures in adventure or survivor books.  In short, anyone who just thinks fire is cool, and making fire from sticks would be even cooler.

It does not matter if you are from the city, suburbs, farm or mountains, this project can be completed by anyone that you feel is responsible enough to learn about fire.  I normally recommend adventurers 10 years and older, but if you are in doubt let’s talk about it and see what you think. 098098098
